Actual IT March 2010 |
Introduction The first quarter of 2010 will soon be behind us, three months which have delivered ample proof of the need for new thinking where browser security is concerned. With three major vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer since January, Microsoft has been the unwilling messenger on the security front. The launch of Windows 7, though, has opened up a new front: browser compatibility. With many enterprise applications optimised for IE6, migration to Windows 7 is bringing the compatibility issue into the limelight. So as the month of March sees us Winter giving way to Spring (at last), take the opportunity to spring-clean your browser deployments and web application environments with a little Virtual Browser! |

![]() |
With the release of Windows 7 (integrating Internet Explorer 8) and the fact that many enterprises are dependent on applications optimised for IE6 and incompatible with other browsers (including later releases of Internet Explorer), the question is “How do we migrate to Windows 7 without putting critical business applications and processes at risk?”.
